The lifetime warranty on this Adidas Utility Field Backpack is what sells me on the product. The construction is good. The features of a large mesh outer pocket, water bottle pocket, media pocket, and generous side pocket are all great additions for student-athletes or those in need of a gym bag. I could also see using it as carry-on luggage or for a weekend trip.The backpack is lightweight and has a roomy interior. The side pocket (seen in photo in a neon green color and called the 'cleat pocket') does take up some of the interior room if it is filled, and the media pocket at the top of the bag comes down into the interior of the bag too.The bottom of the bag has some extra padding, but it's soft and isn't reinforced as much as expected. Maybe this was intentionally done to keep the bag's weight down?The shoulder straps and back of the backpack are both padded, but the padding is not thick. There is no waist strap on this backpack, but the shoulder straps are adjustable. There is a thin, nylon carrying handle at the top of the bag. Zippers are not overly robust, but work as expected. The zipper clasps are slightly larger and angled for easy grasping.The front of the bag does have a generous area (on the mesh portion - centered) where a team logo could be placed. Approximately 12" long and slightly tapered top to bottom. 5 1/2" at its narrowest point at the top and 8" wide at the bottom. The Adidas logo in white is above that on the bag and the 3-stripe logo in silver is on both sides of the bag.I like this bag and it would be an excellent choice for youth and adult athletic teams. The Hydro-Shield fabric provides weather resistant protection to gear, the fair price point and the lifetime warranty through Adidas all make this bag a winner.

I initially purchased this for my son's soccer mate as a birthday. I looked at various brands and decided on this one because I like the separate compartment for shoes and have the ball hanging outside (so it's not with uniform or food, etc.) It is also a good size for 5 y/o, yes it still runs a little big, but some other ones were huge! After receiving it from Amazon, I thought to myself, "wow, this is really nice, great quality, nice material, I should buy one for my son too!" .. so ended up going back to Amazon and purchase a another one. We have used it for roughly a month now, and I have gotten so many compliments at the soccer practice and having people asked me where I got it, etc. His soccer mate who received this as a birthday gift also really liked it, his dad also told me he really liked the bag too and wants to get one for his daughter who also plays soccer. Overall I think you will be very pleased if you decide to purchase one for the soccer player in your family. :)

I use this backpack for kickboxing. It's wonderful because the outside compartment holds your gloves. You need those bad boys to air out and stuffing them inside a bag is no Bueno! The bag is really nice as well. Small compartment on the top to hold your phone, wallet, keys (queue Adam Sandler) and a side pocket for other items such as deodorant and face wipes. Good water bottle holder on the side. Holds Swell bottles really well and the inside is great with a compartment for a laptop or paperwork. Then all the room for sneakers and gym clothes. It's a really great bag and it's served me very well.

Purchased this bag for my 10 year old son who has a small frame yet needed a bag to carry his basketball and gear to tournaments. The bag is a great size except the ball (size 28.5 in) barely fits in the mesh area. Even with the backpack empty, it is a challenge to get the ball to fit. That is my main disappointment because that was the ultimate purpose of the bag for my basketball loving kid.

We frequently travel to nearby tourist destinations for weekend getaways. My teenage son, who is apparently too cool to carry a suitcase but packs very light would rather use a sporty-looking backpack, which is fine with me as long as it's durable and won't fall apart in the middle of a trip. I have to admit this bag is very well made with plenty of compartments for my son to pack his weekend essentials and clothing. It also seems very durable and I can definitely see it holding up to use for sports/soccer purposes. My son likes the style and it'll replace his older, run-down backpack that he'd been using for such trips (I'd always cringe at check-in when he did). Definitely a great bag for sports use or even for weekend travel if you don't pack your whole wardrobe with you. A couple of sets of clothes and some swim trunks and the essentials and you're good to go.
