Part of Kelty's Origins Collection, the Fairback Backpack is a heritage-inspired pack that brings 20th century vibes to our 21st century travels. With a nod to Kelty's vintage packs, the Fairbank combines yesterday's looks with a plethora of pockets for today's technologies, including a padded laptop sleeve for computers up to 15 inches, mesh pockets for our charging cords, and a top zippered pocket for our cell phone—pockets we didn't need back in the day. I wanted to love this backpack. I loved the vintage look and all of the pockets. I intended this bag as a carry-on. I wanted it do be durable and be able to last a number of years of use. I have had it for 2 months and there are already several tears at the seams around patchwork, zippers, and pockets. The stitching isn't durable at all and the bag cannot handle wear or weight. The photos made the bag look like canvas; however, it's just fake canvas made of cheap polyester. The metal zippers on each side pocket are sharp and tend to tear/snag on other fabrics. Won't buy this bag or probably any other Kelty bag again after attempting to repair the bag myself.
