I will be starting a masters program this upcoming Fall and really needed a decent backpack to carry all of my belongings. My undergrad years I did use a Roxy backpack and LOVED it, but unfortunately I decided to take it on a camping trip where it got ruined and I ripped a few seams while climbing off of rocks. I purchased a basic backpack from a Ross retail store where I did find my previous Roxy backpack but it does not feel sturdy enough for the job. I saw this one online a few times and decided to purchase it. I am very happy I did! It is big enough to carry my laptop (macbook air) and 3 textbooks along with my wallet and mini make-up bag. The pencil pouch is big enough for my pens (I have one in every basic color), pencils, gym locker, and hand sanitizer. my water bottle fits perfectly in it as well. I also really love how the straps are super comfortable and give great support. the bottom of the backpack has this thick type of fabric that feels very secure, I doubt anything would rip at the bottom of my backpack because of it.

I am extremely pleased with the quality and durability of this backpack. I bought it for my daughter, who is a sophomore in high school. Her backpack feels like it has bricks in it; and therefore, I wanted something (even if I had to pay a little bit more for it), that would last throughout the year. This backpack has exceeded my expectations. It's attractive, and reinforced where most backpacks I've purchased start to separate and tear apart. It has numerous pockets that are large enough, that you actually only have to store books inside. The straps are what stands out the most, they are wide and cushioned enough that it doesn't put a strain on your shoulders even with a very heavy load. I wish I had discovered Roxy Backpacks, a long time ago. It would have saved me from wasting money on other brands that obviously were not made for a day, a month or a year in the life of schoolers.

Great price, style and functionality!

I already use the Shadow Swell with only one large compartment and was looking for basically the same thing but with two compartments and room for a laptop. I looked at a LOT of different backpacks, comparing price, style and functionality. Using the original Shadow Swell, I loved the two bungee pockets and the easy access back pocket (can reach without taking backpack off) and the top pocket.

Since receiving the backpack, I have been very pleased. Its my 15'6 " laptop (in its fabric cover) and three 1-inch binders. In the second compartment I put my books for English and my laptop charger. In the small front pocket I put my wallet, small assignment pad, calculator, keys and pens and pencils. I use the small top pocket for my headphones, phone charger, hand sanitizer, chap stick and subway tokens. I think it's also important to mention that the bottom of the backpack has a tough rubber-like covering. My old Shadow Swell started ripping at the bottom seams after a few years use. This rubber bottom should prevent such damage from occurring.

This is a great backpack for it's low price. I am a 19 year old in my second year of college and it definitely works for me. I would absolutely recommend it!

This backpack is very roomy, small compartment in the front to store keys, gum etc....the compartment below it has a lot of room for other odds and ends. She can easily fit 5 big text books and papers and still have room. The colors are vibrant and the straps are comfortable and padded to help with the weight of carrying books. Worth the money spent and very happy!

My daughter really liked this backpack and had to have it. She carried her last ROXY backpack for two years with lots of books, with no problems. With this backpack we had slight fraying after about 6 weeks of school. We had it replaced with a new one, so far no problems with the replacement. Lots of space (no lockers at her school) for all her books and then some. She also likes the extra pockets and dividers to keep everything organized. We would by it again.
